Hey everyone, I’m super excited to share with you a new feature on my Synology NAS that I just discovered. It’s called chat and it lets you create your own chat rooms on your NAS. You can make them private or public, invite your friends or family, and chat about anything you want. It’s like having your own personal social network on your NAS.

Why is this feature so cool? Well, for one thing, it gives you more control over your data and privacy. You don’t have to worry about third-party apps or services snooping on your conversations or selling your data. You can also customize your chat rooms with different themes, emojis, stickers, and more. Plus, you can integrate chat with other Synology apps like Drive, Calendar, and MailPlus.

How do you use chat? It’s very easy. Just install the chat package from the Package Center on your NAS. Then, open the chat app on your NAS or on your mobile device. You can create a new chat room by clicking on the plus icon and choosing the type of room you want. You can also join existing chat rooms by browsing the public list or entering the invitation code. Once you’re in a chat room, you can start chatting with other members, send files, images, videos, and more.

I think chat is a great feature for anyone who owns a Synology NAS and wants to communicate with others in a secure and fun way. I’ve already created a few chat rooms for my hobbies and interests and I’m looking forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas.
